Temple 2 - Gokurakuji

It was only just over 1 kilometre between Temple 1 and 2, walking along busy town streets - it didn't really feel like true pilgrimming at all yet! Especially when the directions said you are halfway there when you hit the 7-11 store.

It is said that the carving of the deity of light was so effective that the light went all the way to the sea and the fishermen were prevented from catching fish, so a small hill was put in front of the carving. There is also one honking big cedar tree, which is meant to give the view a longer life.  

But what I loved was the fabulous dragon fountain at the purification tub. So fierce!
